Indian gypsum plaster
Gypsum G1
A one-coat gypsum plaster that replaces traditional sand-cement plaster on brick, block and concrete — smooth, levelled walls in a single step.

- Coverage of 80 m² per MT at 13 mm thickness, with no shrinkage cracks
- Eliminates the two-step process of sand-cement plaster and POP punning
- No water curing required
- Initial setting time of 15–20 minutes
- Enhanced fire resistance; non-combustible when tested to BS 476 Part 4:1970
- Low thermal conductivity — cooler in summer, warmer in winter
- Lightweight aggregates improve thermal resistance (R = 0.07 m²K/W at 13 mm)
Lightweight aggregates like vermiculite and special additives enhance coverage, setting time and workability. G1 can directly replace sand-cement plaster in all internal plastering applications.

Mixing
- Global Gypsum G1 is pre-mixed with aggregate — only clean water needs to be added.
- Mix in a clean tray or bath and avoid excessive mechanical mixing.
- Tools and water must be clean; contamination from earlier mixes shortens setting time and weakens the plaster.
- Keep to the water-to-plaster ratio of 1 part water to 1.25 parts plaster by weight.
- Prepare only as much mix as the immediate scope of work needs.
Once the mix has begun to set, don't add more water — it alters workability, cohesiveness, adhesion and strength.
Application
- Surfaces must be free of dust and oil residue before applying.
- Do not apply when the temperature is below freezing.
- Epoxy paint is not recommended over the plaster; ask your paint vendor for the right primer for gypsum surfaces.
- For detailed application, refer to the Global Gypsum Plaster Guide Booklet or call +91 98211 65575.
- Store inside on a level surface, off the floor, in a dry place protected from the weather.
- For interior use only.
- Install roof, windows and doors before plastering to help prevent dry-outs and ensure consistent setting.
- Do not use where walls are washed with hose pipes, in showers or in industrial-type kitchens.
- Dissimilar expansion of RCC and brick/stone masonry can cause separation — use 145 GSM glass-fibre mesh at junctions.
- Not suitable for long continuously damp or severely humid conditions.
Approximate coverage of a 25 kg bag
- About 10 m² at 3 mm
- About 4 m² at 5–6 mm
- About 2 m² at 13 mm (consistent with 22–25 sq ft)
